Star Wars. E’ spuntato online un video che propone un passaggio del The Skywalker Legacy documentary con un’intervista ad Adam Driver, protagonista di Episodio IX – L’Ascesa di Skywalker. L’attore ha parlato del suo personaggio Ben Solo (ex Kylo Ren) e, in particolare, della redenzione.
L’attore spiega che “finalmente” si è data una risposta precisa a “Chi è Ben”. E lo scopriamo nel finale del film, quando non ci sono più ambiguità su quel che deve fare. Il ragazzo non ha più incertezze su quel che sta accadendo. Per la prima volta in vita sua ha scoperto il suo scopo, il suo destino. Ed ha scoperto cosa è giusto fare e con chi è giusto farlo (deve stare al fianco di Rey). Ed affronta il tutto senza certezze, senza sapere cosa succederà o meno, ma non gli importa affatt (non ha paura). Adam Driver specifica una cosa in particolare: Ben sa che finché agirà con Rey, finché sarà con lei, sarà sulla strada giusta.
Dalle parole dell’attore si capisce che sono stati celebrati due concetti fondamentali in Guerre Stellari: la speranza e la redenzione.

“The thing that we started with for “Who is Ben, then?” is someone who has hope. There’s no more ambiguity about what it is he has to do. There’s no more seesaw that’s happening. For the first time, someone who has never had the answer now finally knows his purpose or destiny. He has to let her know that they’re together. But I don’t know that he entirely is sure of what’s going to happen from there, nor do I think he cares. I think it’s so long as he’s with her, he’s on the right path.”

Il concetto di redenzione resta fondamentale nella saga di Star Wars e non poteva mancare nella Trilogia Sequel.
