Star Wars The Clone Wars è una serie televisiva animata, realizzata in grafica computerizzata e che George Lucas ha immediatamente considerato “canonica” e fondamentale per la comprensione della sua saga. Per Lucas non c’è distinzione tra The Clone Wars ed un Episodio qualsiasi di Star Wars.
Gli episodi dello show non sono stati trasmessi in ordine cronologico. Come è preferibile guardarli? Matt Martin dello Story Group della Lucasfilm ha detto la sua su Twitter:
“I personally prefer chronological but there are merits to both”

Creata da George Lucas, prodotta dalla Lucasfilm Animation, la serie ha fatto il suo esordio il 3 ottobre 2008 su Cartoon Network e su Turner Network Television. Si è conclusa l’8 marzo 2014 su Netflix, proponendo in tutto 121 episodi, suddivisi in 6 stagioni. In Italia è andata in onda sul canale a pagamento Cartoon Network a partire dal 13 febbraio 2009 ed è stata proposta anche su Netflix.
DESCRIZIONE: “Ambientata nell’universo fantascientifico di Guerre stellari, durante le Guerre dei Cloni, la serie si colloca cronologicamente tra i film prequel L’attacco dei cloni e La vendetta dei Sith, ricoprendo un periodo di tre anni, ed è stata preceduta da un film omonimo (che costituisce di fatto l’episodio pilota della serie)”.
